Fundraising

PTA coordinates and staffs several fundraisers each year to raise money for equipment and programs that enhance our schools and our children's learning. These fundraisers would not be possible without the help of our Orange Schools families and your support is very much appreciated.

PTA grants nearly $25,000 to OIP, MHS & BMS teachers and staff in 2023-24 school year

Thanks to the incredible support of the Orange Schools Community of the PTA, our PTA was able to grant nearly $25,000 in materials to OIP, MHS and BMS teachers and staff. Through this popular PTA program, teachers and staff who are members of the PTA are eligible for up to $300 in grants on an annual basis. Many teachers take advantage of this program to supplement their classroom libraries, or purchase activities students may enjoy during indoor recess, as a few examples.

A few highlights from this year:

  • Mr. Eddie Evans was granted large building blocks (pictured), which are being enjoyed by the Great Expectations classroom students.

  • Kindergarten teachers joined together to request the same sets of early reading books for each classroom, ensuring all students have access to the same quality materials.
  • Mrs. Tina Raleigh and Ms. Lydia Frabotta were granted materials to create a Peace Path on the MHS playground, which will support healthy conflict resolution.
  • All third graders were gifted a subscription to Highlights magazine, which they’re using in the classroom to supplement the curriculum.
  • At BMS, PTA provided numerous materials to special education to create “task boxes,” which are small, ready-made boxes that build academic/vocational skills, or job tasks for the students in the cross categorical classroom. Items will either be used for sorting, organizing, following directions, and/or building fine motor skills. These items were requested based on insight paraprofessionals gained after working with the high school. Knowing about some of the community skills they work on at OHS, BMS teachers and paraprofessionals are now preparing the students for those skills.
  • Students in the Great Expectations classroom (pictured) are enjoying their bicycle for two and playground balls, which they use to practice catching and throwing with peers from other classrooms.

  • And finally, our littlest learners at OIP will benefit greatly from radio flier tricycles, a trampoline, and numerous games and sensory play items, and even a balance bike. The items granted will support increased independence, core strength, postural support and progression of gross motor skills.
